Cutting-Edge Science Curriculum and Lab Implementation: BioBridge interfaces world-class scientists, leading technology companies, high school students and science educators to develop innovative laboratory activities based on current research.
Teacher Training and Professional Development: BioBridge has optimized a training program that mentors teachers to develop and implement state-of-the-art, high impact laboratory principals in their classrooms.
Science Leader Society: BioBridge has initiated a leadership society providing opportunities to engage students and their teachers, undergraduate, and graduate students with leading science professionals from the San Diego research community and science industry.
San Diego Science Festival (Science Week San Diego):
The BioBridge team is pulling together strategic partners from around the San Diego community to showcase San Diego science in an annual Science Festival.
In-School Technology and Media Integration: BioBridge is working with high school students, teachers and undergraduates to infuse media into science classrooms to reflect the relevance of science in their lives.
Science Interest Groups (SIG's):
Working with teachers and college mentors, high school students can use BioBridge resources, media, and supplies to continue their growth in science by forming on- or off-campus interest groups.
On-Site Tech Center Development:
In order to maintain feasible costs for new lab curriculum and supplies, BioBridge will assist each high school district to set a class in which students can earn lab experience and credit by taking low-cost raw materials and setting up lab-specific items (vs buying ready-made kits)
Integrate Web 2.0 Resource:
Over the next year, BioBridge will continue to redesign and expand its web resources to integrate all initiatives and members of the BioBridge network. Students and teachers will have personal science profiles, connect with one another, upload and view videos, lectures, and lab presentations, create science resumes, and have easy access to implement any lab available. And this will all happen for anyone, anywhere.
